Origin Story

A Modeled Church

Our Origin Story

In November of 2006 a few families began meeting for prayer and Bible study dedicated to the teaching and preaching of God's Word and the proclamation of His glory throughout the nations. Wednesday, January 31st, 2007, Jeff Hunter accepted the call to become the pastor of the newly incorporated Grace Fellowship Baptist Church.

It was not the desire of Grace Fellowship to strike out into "new territory" or be original. God has preserved and raised up many godly churches centered around His Word, dedicated to glorifying Him above all else. Recognizing the way the early church grew and prospered as local churches modeled themselves after one another, Grace Fellowship sought help from trusted friends at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California and Christ Fellowship Baptist in Mobile, Alabama. With loving encouragement from the brothers and sisters at Christ Fellowship, along with its former pastor, Dr. Steve Lawson, GFBC developed a strong biblical and theological foundation.

A Continuing Church

The church purchased a former school building in Robertsdale, Alabama, and over a period of time remodeled the facility into a beautiful church structure. In 2016, Jeff Hunter accepted a position as Associate Dean of Student Life for Boyce College in Louisville, KY, and in 2017, the church called its second pastor, Mark Gervais.
